About Louis Hestaux:
Louis Hestaux (1858-1919) was a French painter, draughtsman and decorator active in Paris at the end of the 19th century. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and developed an appreciated body of work around monumental views and architectural compositions.
He is also known for his collaboration with the Art Nouveau movement and the world of decorative glassware. Louis Hestaux worked notably for the Daum company in Nancy, where he participated in the creation of naturalistic and symbolist decors intended for the artistic glassworks of the Art Nouveau period. His work as a draughtsman influenced several creations by this great Nancy manufacturer, which are sought after by collectors today.
His graphic works captivate with their poetic atmosphere, architectural mastery and fine execution.
