Bverse: Floreti Comes, canted cross, with circular legend.
Reverse: Turonus civis, castle tournois type, surrounded by a border of twelve lilies.
Florent V of Holland, nicknamed "der Keelen God" ("the Peasants' God"), born in 1254 and murdered on June 27, 1296 at Muiderberg, was Count of Holland from 1256 to 1296. Son of William I, King of the Romans, he distinguished himself by a policy of asserting countly power and emancipating himself from the local nobility.
