A beautiful, finely carved sculpture in Swiss pine depicting a cherub holding a bunch of grapes, alluding allegorically to the cult of Bacchus. The design is elegant, with the cherub’s nudity covered by a drape held in place by a shoulder strap, and the figure is anatomically well-structured. The cherub rests on a faux rocky terrain that evokes the style of Roman Baroque.

The carving, likely from the northern region, dates to around the mid-18th century.
