Pair Of Small Devotional Oils On Wood. Naples, First Half Of XVIII Century.
Pair of small oils on wood depicting one, San Giueppe and the child. The other is a joyous representation of the Child Jesus playing with the San Giovannino.
The talented painter who executed them shows compositional affinities, especially in the choice of colors, with the works of the Neapolitan master Francesco De Mura (1696-1782 Naples). In fact, they could come out of his workshop or that of another painter active in the mid-18th century in the Neapolitan city.
The paintings are in a very good state of conservation and could receive a small cleaning intervention, aimed at bringing out the original colors and the luministic values, especially of the elements placed at the base of the scenes, such as attributes and delightful flowers placed like small still lifes.
The measurements of the tablets are: 22cm x 26cm to add those of the non-coeval frames.
We attach a guarantee of authenticity to the sale
