Beautiful engraving depicting the city of Algiers in the early 18th century. Engraved by Aveline, original hand-coloring. In the foreground are several 17th-century ships, including a galley. Another, slightly different version features more boats, but less interest. Proof on old laid paper (rag paper), made to shape. The 50x33cm sheet has probably not been cut. Good condition, no repairs.
