Red Medici Vase Le Tallec Paris
Vase Médicis rouge LE TALLEC, Paris
Porcelain Médicis-form vase, approx. 30 cm high, resting on a square pedestal. The decoration features a deep red background ("Pompadour" red), enhanced by rich Louis XVI-style gilded ornamentation, characterized by finely executed neoclassical scrolls, palmettes and friezes.
The central section is adorned with a gold-ringed medallion, depicting a trophy of musical instruments (violin, mandolin, horns and sheet music) treated in gray monochrome on a white background, surrounded by delicate floral garlands.
The side handles are formed of stylized figures evoking chimeras or winged sphinx heads, predominantly white with gold highlights, bringing a sculptural and decorative character to the piece.
The object is signed under the base, indicated as designed and painted entirely by hand by Le Tallec.
Le Tallec is a Parisian porcelain decoration factory founded in 1930 by Camille Le Tallec that specialized in painting entirely by hand on fine Sèvres porcelain.
