Louis XV Transition Period Dressing Table In Marquetry, 18th Century Parisian Work.
Dressing table in rosewood veneer, mahogany, satinwood, in fine marquetry of green-tinted boxwood music trophy.
The form of the furniture is still truly Louis XV, but the "à l'antique" stylestyle that prefigures the Louis XVI style appears on the marquetry motifsmarquetry (green-stained Greek wood fillets and rosettes). NiceTransitional Louis XV - Louis XVI period, circa 1760-70. This is thethe work of a great 18th-century Parisian cabinetmaker, but ourdressing table is not stamped.

It opens with 3 flaps revealing:
- in the center, a tilting mirror (mercury)
- a locker on the right, below which is a slim, full-width drawer with an inkwell
.- a deep locker on the left,
- finally, the central drawer conceals a leather-lined writing case leather: still in the eighteenth century, well-madefurniture incorporated a writing pad for writing notes that wereto write bills that were exchanged several times a day.
