Emperor Napoleon On Horseback, Bronze With A Dark Brown Patina, Early 19th Century
Beautiful statue of Emperor Napoleon I, in campaign dress with his greatcoat, bicorn hat, and sword, mounted on his rearing horse. The Emperor extends his arm towards victory, in a gesture of command. Bronze with a dark brown patina, an early cast, probably from the period of the Return of the Ash Wednesday, around 1840. A fine Napoleonic memento, the bronze is of high quality and not a late 19th or early 20th-century recast. Note: we are also selling a sea-green marble base to complete the piece. Excellent condition, no missing pieces, beautiful patina, little to no wear. Height 26.5 cm, Total length 23 cm, Base dimensions 22 x 9.2 cm
