Large Aubusson Carpet In The Louis XVI Style, Napoleon III Period - 342cm X 250cm
Artist: Manufacture D'aubusson, Attribué à
Large Napoleon III period Aubusson rug - late 19th century. Light in color, in beige tones, our carpet is beautifully decorated in the Louis XVI style, with Greek frieze, rosettes, bouquets and wreaths of flowers au naturel.
The Aubusson Manufactory has been recognized for the excellence of its production of French carpets and tapestries since the 17th century. First Royal, Imperial and then National, it supplied official palaces and aristocratic families. An elegant object, a must-have for a grand French decor. The effect produced by XVIIIth century seats and furniture on a French rug has nothing to do with an Oriental rug.
Very good overall condition. The light colors (shades of beige) give a lot of luminosity to the room for which this rug will be intended, and the rug is originally light in color. It brightens and lightens a room when large red formats can be heavier. It has no tears or stains.
Very rare in this fresh condition.
