Royalist Engraving, Portrait Of Louis XIX, Dauphin Of France And Duke Of Angoulême
A royalist engraving from the Restoration period, an interesting historical royalist memento dating from the early 19th century, during the Restoration, in its original giltwood frame. It is a portrait of Louis Antoine of France, Duke of Angoulême and Dauphin of the Kingdom of France. The engraving is titled and stamped with the Dauphin's coat of arms. Eldest son of King Charles X, Louis Antoine of France was the short-lived King Louis XIX and the husband of Madame Royale, Marie Thérèse of France. This is a beautiful collector's item or historical Legitimist royalist memento. The subject is rare. The piece is in good condition. The gold leaf gilding has been cleaned by our gilder, and the engraving is clean, though slightly faded. The frame retains its original blown glass pane, which creates beautiful reflections but makes photography difficult. Frame dimensions: 49.8 cm x 36.6 cm
