Large Decorative Vase Made Of Paris Porcelain—empire Style From The Restoration Period—30.5 Cm
Large ornamental vase made of Paris porcelain. Empire-style piece from the Restoration period—early 19th century, 1820s–1830s.
Beautiful decoration in the Sèvres style, featuring on one side a very delicate landscape painting of a thatched cottage and trees within a frame, and on the other side a scene depicting a young Greek couple, referencing the Greek War of Independence in 1821 against Ottoman rule, supported by the European powers. Very beautiful matte and glossy gilding throughout the vase, particularly on the side handles.
A large, highly decorative model; vases of this size were considered luxury items at the time.
Our vase is in very good condition and is remarkably well-preserved (fresh gilding with slight wear on the base, vibrant colors, no damage or repairs).
