Aftafa ewer, in tin-plated copper, decorated on all sides, with interlacing, friezes, flowers and scenes of musicians and dancers on the sides of the ewer.

Our model comes from Northwest Persia, Eastern Iran, Azerbaijan.
An Esse cast handle, beautiful engravings and a patina due to time highlight the object.
Note the many flowery facets on the front and back.
The decorations present are similar to those found on Persian carpets,
but also on carpets from the nearby Caucasus.
This Aftafa ewer or jug was and is primarily used for ablutions, washing the face and hands, at the time of religious ceremonies.
