Empoli Vase, Alexandrite Glass, Blue To Pink, Large Model From The 60s
Very beautiful and large Alexandrite blown glass vase, Italian production from the Empoli workshops, vintage work from the 1960s-1970s. Model with generous belly and scalloped flared neck, entirely textured with geometric reliefs offering superb plays of light, slightly twisted at the neck. The glass is called "Alexandrite" because of its hue, which changes from violet to blue under artificial light, and from mauve to pink in natural light, like the stone of the same name, which has the same property of changing color with light. Beautiful quality, with the presence of fine bubbles in the mass, typical of blown work. A rare model in vase format, usually found in carafe form.
Height 29 cm, maximum diameter 18 cm. Very good overall condition, with only a few rare and discreet micro-scratches from use. Approx. 1kg.
