A Pair Of Louis XVI Flambeaux First Half Of The 19th Century

Artist: D'apres Un Modele D'etienne Marticourt
A chiselled and gilded bronze vase in the shape of a binet, resting on a tripod base adorned with three putti heads; the circular base is decorated with flaming torches set within medallions

Feuchère may have owned this model, since the sale of his stock in 1829 mentions bas-reliefs by E. Martincourt.
Let's also mention the pair of torches of this model delivered around 1845 to the Duc d'Aumale for the Château de Chantilly (ill. in P. Verlet, Les bronzes dorés français du XVIIIe siècle, Paris, p. 387).
