The painting depicts the goddess Diana seated on a red throne, her robe uncovered, and her attribute, the Moon, above her head. Her handmaidens stand around her, one of whom holds a lyre. This is a unique and delightful scene, thanks to the skillful use of color and realism. Tuscan manufacture, early 18th century.
