Mythological Painting, The Triumph Of Juno, Oil On Canvas, 18th Century

Beautiful oil on canvas dating from the 1st half of the 18th century and depicting the triumph of Juno on her chariot crossing the heavens of Olympus.

This painting animated by numerous characters is very colorful and beautifully composed.
Juno appears on her chariot pulled by peacocks, dressed in a red robe.
she appears triumphant and escorted by a cohort of angels and angel musicians, as well as the rainbow and various other deities from the Greek pantheon.
she appears triumphant and taking revenge on Zeus located below, who seems to have to endure his wife's triumph.
the whole stands out against a background of maritime decor.
the colors are superb, much more beautiful in reality, and this painting is really of high quality.
few restorations just a cleaning of oxidized varnish.
the frame is in wood and gilded stucco, of later period of course, Napoleon III with the installation of a Marie Louise with gilded wood Grecque decoration which suits the whole very well.
a beautiful mythological painting in the spirit of the painting by Livio Mehus 1630-1691 located in the Pitti Palace in Florence.
