Middle Age Rapier
We present this lovely Viollet-le-Duc (1814-1879) period rapier, circa 1830/1840/1850. This was the era of the restoration of medieval castles that had sometimes been abandoned for centuries (it was the beginning of the industrial era). These castles restored by these great industrialists had to be furnished and decorated, so they found local antique dealers (there weren't many) where they had various exact replicas made, and our shell rapier is an example in dream condition, leather scabbard and the whole thing in beaten and chased iron, see details.
