Rare Pair Of Bottle-shaped Vases, Arita Porcelain, Imari 3 Amis, Japan Edo Circa 1720s
Elegant bottle-shaped vases with high necks and rounded bodies, these are a fine pair of porcelain vases. With a white background and slightly bluish paste, they are decorated with an Imari 3 Friends design. Pines, Prunus and Bamboos in various cartouches, one of which is decorated with banana leaves. Collars and bases adorned with geometric shapes, and the top of the collars with stylized clouds in red and gold. Beautiful enamel colors, in blue, red, gray and gold highlights, an almost Kakiemon green pleasantly completes the palette.
Acceptable condition for the period, but not perfect. One has a small chip at the neck and a skip of enamel at a banana leaf, the other has a large chip at the neck. Please look carefully at my detailed photos, I'm not hiding anything!
