French Infantry Shako Plate Model 1810
French 1810 Model shako plate of the 44th Regiment d’Infanterie de Ligne (Infantry regiment of the Line). An other ranks, stamped brass plate that is in excavated condition having a double lined border with the regimental number to the centre ’44’. Four, punched fixation holes. Showing a dark patina overall with a small split and damage to one part.
Note –
The 44e Regiment d’infanterie de Ligne served in the Peninsula War, the German Campaign of 1813 and the defence of France in 1814.
