An elegant bust portrait of a young woman with curly chestnut hair, held back by a pale blue ribbon. Her face is turned three-quarters towards the viewer in an expression of gentle serenity. She is dressed in the antique style with a white chemise with a draped neckline, enhanced by a belt adorned with small metallic motifs, over which rests an olive-green scarf thrown over her right shoulder; a mauve-pink coat completes the ensemble gracefully. The background, rendered in shades of grey-blue with a landscaped horizon line, lends the composition an atmospheric lightness characteristic of neoclassical portraiture.

The meticulous execution, the delicate modeling of the face, and the masterful application of luminous glazes to the fabrics testify to a skilled hand, likely trained in the circle of Angelica Kauffmann or her circle of influence.

The canvas is mounted on an antique wooden stretcher with a central crossbar and keyed edges.
Frame: Modern Louis XVI style gilt molded frame, decorated with egg-and-dart motifs and foliate scrolls at the corners and in the center of the uprights, in good overall condition, well-suited to the spirit of the work.
