Ring-shaped pink glass flask – Royal La Margeride Glassworks (18th century)

Charming ring-shaped blown glass flask, attributed to the Royal La Margeride Glassworks, located in Védrines-Saint-Loup and active between 1769 and 1792, in the heart of the eponymous mountain range.

This piece is distinguished by its characteristic pink hue, an emblematic signature of this 18th-century glass production. It exhibits a "crizzling" effect, recognizable by its fine micro-cracks on the surface, resulting from variations in the chemical composition of the glass during its manufacture. Far from being a defect, this aspect testifies to the artisanal process and the specific technical characteristics of this historic factory, due to errors in the proportions of the glass.

The surface, entirely covered with micro-fissures, and its delicate coloring give this flask an authentic charm and true value as a testament to ancient glassmaking expertise.

Dimensions: 15.5 cm high.

Very good overall condition. Note: a minor crack under the base (a common occurrence in glassware from this manufacturer). The pontil mark is clearly visible under the base. A rare and evocative piece, ideal for collectors or enthusiasts of antique glassware.
