Kilim - Corridor. Adiyaman. Anatolia. Circa 1880. 285 X 65 Cm
Two major characteristics stand out in this piece: its relative narrowness (65 cm), which allows for placement in a hallway or entryway, and its dense, saturated, plant-inspired hues. These same hues, along with its texture, allow us to date this piece to the late 19th century. Origin: Adiyaman in southeastern Anatolia. The weaving is a pure marvel: precise, regular, and delicate. Across the entire surface, one observes a succession of woven and embroidered horizontal bands. The color palette is deep and pure. The saturated indigo blues are aquatic and oceanic. In perfect condition! Circa 1880. Dimensions: 285 x 65 cm. It is important to specify that this piece is the work of Kurdish weavers. The hues indicate this, as does the weaving, which requires exceptional dexterity. Laurent, Beauty of Kilims
