"Anatolian Kilim. Mid-20th Century. 305 X 125 Cm"
A very bright Anatolian kilim originating from the Antalya region. Woven wool on wool in the traditional way. What is very particular about this piece, and immediately catches the eye, is the asymmetrical aspect of the composition. I find in it a kind of creative flair, or at least a certain originality. The weaver seems to be playing subtly, surprising us with finesse by creating a completely unexpected border that breaks away from the rather geometric and repetitive design. A delight!
