Created in 1927, this work is part of the painter's Norman production; he also painted views of Montmartre. Son of the famous American painter Frank Myers Boggs (1855-1926), he used vibrant colors and a dynamic style to create scenes that were often lively. Also a musician, he became a member of the brass band La Chignole, along with Gen Paul (1895-1975) and Marcel Aymé (1902-1967). A true prince of the bohemian lifestyle, he squandered his father's inheritance on extravagant parties and pursued his passion for painting to the very end. He died at the age of 50.
