Artist: Henri Bouvrie (1896-1973)
Watercolor depicting the port of Audierne in Brittany. Signed lower left, Henri Bouvrie. Dimensions: 44 x 35 cm (sight size). Henri Bouvrie (1896–1973) was a French painter. He received the gold medal from the Société des Artistes Français. Excerpt from the website Le Lorrain: “He was born in Vertus in Champagne, but, being from Franche-Comté, he spent part of his life in Bar-le-Duc and exhibited extensively in the Nancy Salons and in some of the city's art galleries. His emotional connection to Lorraine is undeniable, and therefore we consider him a Lorraine cousin. In the newspaper "Le Pays Lorrain," his name appears in 1934 in the excellent article "Le mouvement artistique à Nancy" by Emile Nicolas, and again in 1936 and 1959 in connection with the Salon of "L'Union des artistes de l'Est."
