Embossed Cotton Cover - Hand-embroidered Pm Monogram - Pineapple And Fern Design - 19th Century

A very beautiful cotton piqué blanket (late 19th century) with a somewhat unusual design featuring fern fronds, pineapples, and other exotic flowers and plants. It bears the monogram PM, hand-embroidered in padded satin stitch, giving it a pronounced and generous relief. The white embroidery is executed with precision and regularity. This blanket is remarkable for having been used very little and is in perfect condition, with no wear to the materials (except for a tiny rust spot and a bluish spot located approximately 30 cm from one edge – see photo). The antique linen is a bright white, washed, and ironed.
