Wedding Handkerchief - Fine Embroidery On Batiste - Unnumbered - Late 19th Century
Superb handkerchief in fine linon, decorated with delicate white embroidery executed in plumetis, at the four corners. All borders worked mixing festoons of roses with round teeth and festoons of roses with pointed teeth. Beautiful work of experienced embroiderer, made with precision and regularity.
Condition : Note a slight distortion of the weft threads as well as two tiny pinholes (see close-up photo). This very fine handkerchief does not present any fragility under tension.
