Embossed Cotton Piqué Blanket Decorated With Crocheted Lace. No Initials. Antique Linen.

A very beautiful white embossed cotton piqué blanket, typical of wedding trousseaux from the 19th to the early 20th century. It does not bear initials, allowing for the possibility of embroidering it with a desired number. The sides—between the head and foot of the bed—are trimmed with crocheted lace with a notched edge. This antique linen, with its dense floral design and pronounced relief, appears to have been used very little, thus preserving the quality of the tightly woven fabric and machine stitching. The blanket is in impeccable condition, with a beautiful drape, and has been washed and ironed.
