Charles X Centerpiece In Gilt Bronze And Patinated Bronze

Elegant centerpiece from the Charles X period (circa 1820–1830), executed in finely gilt bronze and patinated bronze. The composition is supported by two finely modelled putti standing on an elaborately decorated base. Each figure carries a staff over the shoulder while holding the central bowl, creating a lively and well-balanced sculptural composition.

The central bowl is made of pierced gilt bronze with an elegant lattice decoration. The lower part is enriched with decorative masks and rests on a small central foot. The elongated base is finely ornamented with classical motifs, including beaded borders and small decorative feet.

The contrast between the warm tone of the gilt bronze and the dark patina of the figures gives the piece a strong decorative presence. Such centerpieces were intended as luxurious table ornaments in refined interiors during the first half of the 19th century.
