Oil On Canvas "peasant Resting With His Plow Horses By The Sea" 20th Century

This large-format painting is signed in the lower right corner by Jeanne Lechleitner, an artist born in the 19th century and who died in the 20th century. It also bears the inscription "after M. Van Diéterle." Jeanne Lechleitner executed several paintings now in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Mulhouse. The quality of execution is remarkably similar to the original, but her practice was always to sign with the attribution "after," and even on the back of the painting, the stretcher bears the inscription "Museum copy." It has a very beautiful antique frame. The original of this painting was painted by Marie Diéterle, born Marie Perrine Louise Van Marcke de Lummen, born in Sèvres in 1856 and who died in Paris in 1935.
