Arthur Schachenmann, born in Altkirch (Haut-Rhin) in 1893 and died in Schaffhausen in 1978, is an Alsatian painter. Self-taught, he painted landscapes of the Sundgau and still lifes. Close to the painters Robert Breitwieser and Léon Lehman who would also influence his painting. He exhibited regularly in Paris, at the Chéron gallery, Drouant, at the Tuileries and Autumn salons. Present at the Altkirch Museum, those of Strasbourg, and the Royal Museum of Antwerp.
