Pair Of Restoration Period Gilt Bronze Wall Sconces, 19th Century
An important pair of finely chased gilt bronze wall sconce bases decorated with foliage. According to our research, these are the bases for two monumental sconces depicting cherubs or mermaids holding a candelabrum (see illustration of a comparable model). Remarkable period chasing and mercury gilding with superb interplay of matte and burnished tones across both pieces.

Length: 20.5 cm. Base width: 19.5 cm.
