Westerwald Stoneware Pitcher, 17th Century, Decorated With Lion Heads
Authentic 17th-century Westerwald salt-glazed stoneware pitcher, decorated in the characteristic shades of cobalt blue and gray. This pitcher features a rich decoration of applied motifs and an expressive mask on the neck. Its original hinged pewter lid enhances its value. The ergonomic handle and typical Westerwald style are perfectly in keeping with the period. The pewter lid bears the maker's mark on the inside.
