China, Circa 1900. Silver Box By Hung Chong & Co.
A circular, flat-bottomed, repoussé, guilloché, and engraved silver box with strong lines on the lid and base. The body and lid are decorated across their entire surface with a Chinese dragon executed in pronounced bas-relief. The interior is gilt (signs of wear). China, Shanghai, circa 1900. Maker's mark: Hung Chong & Co. Silver, at least 800/1000, French "swan" hallmark.
