Kiss Of Peace, Silver-plated Bronze, France Circa 1800
Peace Kiss of a circular, multi-lobed shape, made of cast bronze, in bas-relief and repoussé, silvered. In the center, a medallion represents a paschal lamb holding a cross. This representation is decorated with a corolla composed of aquatic leaves on a guilloché background. The whole evokes the image of a Gothic sun. The oscillatory rests on the front on two openwork support points, and is supported at the back by a large handle. France, Work dating from around 1800.
