Spectacular Neo-renaissance Planter
We are offering for sale this substantial jardinière with Neo-Renaissance decoration. Its spectacular size measures 56 cm from one cherub-shaped finial to the other. The interior rim is decorated, and the base measures 44 cm long and 29 cm wide. The base is shaped and rests on cabriole feet. It bears the Montagnon mark on the bottom, likely that of Antoine. I forgot to mention that this piece was made in Nevers; Antoine Montagnon operated the pottery from 1875, when he purchased it, until 1899. The factory has been closed since 2015.
