Léon Brunard (1872–1933) Large Round Glazed Ceramic Vase – Stylized Floral Decoration – Art Deco. This very beautiful round glazed ceramic vase is signed Léon Brunard (1872–1933). The piece has a generous and balanced form, typical of the decorative styles of the interwar period, with a wide body and a slightly flared neck. The decoration is particularly successful: a stylized vegetal scroll composed of large, veined ivory leaves, enhanced with deep black touches, stands out against a green background punctuated by vertical striations. The whole is framed by an upper lip treated with a superb flowing bluish-grey glaze, contrasting with a dark border. Here we find all of Brunard's decorative sensibility: simplified vegetal motif, geometric construction of the decoration, balanced massing, and subtle chromatic exploration. The glaze work is rich, with slight variations and nuances that bring depth and vibrancy to the surface. Handwritten signature under the base: Brunard. Period: Art Deco, 1920s–1930s. Active from 1905 to 1930. Very good overall condition. Some minor signs of wear consistent with age, no major damage. A striking and elegant decorative piece, perfectly in the Art Deco style, ideal for both classic and contemporary interiors.
