Mohamed Bouzid is an Algerian painter born in 1929 in Lakhdaria (formerly Palestro), who has lived in Paris since 1994. He designed the seal and coat of arms of the Algerian Republic in 1963, following independence. He participated in numerous exhibitions, notably the 1964 exhibition "Algerian Painters" at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. His last major exhibition was a retrospective at the Musée National des Beaux-Arts in Algiers.
