LABELLE André Art Brut "Born in 1934 in Villeneuve-sur-Lot , André Labelle was a gardener for a very long time. Passionate about painting, he began to work from nature, but very quickly abandoned this path to give free rein to his imagination. He drew his inspiration from the sky, more precisely from everything what emanates from the planet Mars. Indeed, the beings, animals or objects are all qualified as "Martians" in inscriptions invariably affixed to his productions, attesting to their celestial origin. Using markers or acrylic, André Labelle paints on all types of supports: packing boxes, pebbles, tiles, pallets, branches, etc. His palette is reduced to four or five colors: blue, red, black, yellow ocher and a few touches of green. a colorful puzzle, scales, circles, spira the and streaks proliferate and articulate, until they form these strange creatures with prominent eyes.",Museum of frank creation
