Lucas Suppin (born July 2, 1911 in Untertauern and died February 24, 1998 in Salzburg, Austria) was an Austrian painter of Slovenian origin. He comes from the School of Paris. He worked in Salzburg and Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Friend of the painter Picasso, the poet Jacques Prévert and the composer Carl Orff. It was he who put Prévert and Orff in touch, he also who organized their meeting in Paris as indicated by several letters archived at the Orff Zentrum in Munich. We also learn in these letters that Orff, Suppin and Prévert had a common project around a book (probably around the theme of Oedipus), but this never materialized. Lucas Suppin was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor by François Mitterrand in 1985.
