In 1914, he participated in an international graphic exhibition Leipzig. In 1917-1924, he devoted most of his time to the design of sets for various theaters-St Petersburg, Odessa, Prague, Paris, and for the Royal Opera of Bucharest. In Paris, where he lived from 1923, he also worked on games for the Casanova and Sheherazade films and continued to paint in the cubist-constructivist style (for example, Composition (1924), Construction1924, or Person1926) .In the 1930s Andriienko-Nechytailo produced a series of Surrealist paintings (for example, A Déconnage Foire1933). He moved to neorealism in the 1940s and painted a number of portraits, as well as a series of Disappearing Paris cityscapes (such as Rue Carpeaux1946, Rue Paul Barruel1954, Cambronne Rue1954, andPaysage du Cycle1956). From 1958, it returns to constructivism and abstraction. Andriienko-Nechytailo's work is characterized by a precision of composition which harmonizes subtly with the color. Its scenographies are remarkable by their laconic quality and their architectural schematization, and by his costume, by his wealth. His paintings are found in the Museum of the City of Modern Art and the Library of Arsenal at Paris, the National Library in Vienna, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the National Museum of Liviv, and Ukrainian emigrant museums and private art collections.
