Annie Proszynska was born in Nogent-sur-Marne in 1924. After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she turned to painting and printmaking. Beginning in 1959, she participated in group exhibitions at the Galerie Hamon and presented her paintings at the Salon d’Automne. Solo exhibitions were held in her honor at Kiefer in Paris and at Matarasso in Nice.
She lived in Nice from 1864 until her death; her paintings—often inspired by the Mediterranean and rendered in vibrant pastel tones—play with the superimposition of forms and sketched silhouettes.
