Artist: Walter Firle (1859/1929)
Walther Firle took painting lessons from a young age and joined the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1879; he subsequently made numerous trips to Italy and the Netherlands where he studied the old masters. Back in Germany, he produced his first major paintings, notably portraits of members of the Bavarian royal family. A large part of his work is preserved in the public collections of the city of Munich. Dimensions: canvas 101 x 80cm / with frame 128 x 109cm
