"Lithograph By Lebadang Depicting Horses"
Artist's proof of Lebadang: Vietnamese painter, engraver and sculptor, naturalized French in 1980. After studying at the École des Beaux Arts in Toulouse between 1942 and 1948, he spent most of his life in France with some stays in the United States and Japan. The Cincinnati Art Museum dedicated his first solo exhibition to him in 1966. In 1985 he created his first "Espaces"; works in paper which combine several techniques between sculpture and bas-relief. He created sets and costumes for the Paris Opera, published several portfolios of lithographs (including Huit chevaux in 1964, his first portfolio in relief on poems and calligraphy by Chou Ling), designed sculptures for the glassmaker Daum ... In Vietnam, the city of Hue inaugurated in 2006 the Lebadang art foundation which preserves and permanently exhibits more than 400 works on paper reflecting more than 70 years of creation. In 2015, his wife made a donation to the Cernushi Museum of a set of works on paper which reflects the full extent of the artist's plastic research and technical innovations in the field of printmaking.
