Period Gouache Engraving From The Restoration Era - Senior Officers On Horseback - Beautiful Giltwood Frame
A beautiful hand-colored (gouache) engraving depicting French senior officers (a general and a colonel) on horseback. It is presented in a very ornate Empire-style frame with palmettes, dating from the Restoration period. Work from the 1830s-1840s. A lovely piece, ideal for complementing an early 19th-century Neoclassical decor. The superb frame, gilded with gold leaf, has been cleaned by our gilder. It is in excellent condition, without any damage or missing pieces. There is a small tear in the engraving. Frame dimensions: 39.5 x 45 cm
