"Pair Of Large Andirons With Royalist Marmosets, Louis XIV Style"
Pair of large bronze andirons with marmosets in the Louis XIV style from the 19th century. If andirons of this type were very successful in the 19th century to equip the fireplaces of all Neo Louis XIII and Louis XIV castles, our andirons are distinguished by their Royalist decoration of great originality: the busts of Marmosets are here allegories of the Crown of France, which dispenses abundance (symbolized by fruits). Other royal attributes include the Dauphins and the fleurs-de-lis on the balls. Beautiful model, ideal for a fireplace in an old castle with haute époque decoration, or for a 19th century castle in the Louis XIII style. They are in very good condition. Height 57cm Width 31cm
