19th Century Leather Studded Travel Trunk/writing Case
Large traveling secretary chest with two iron handles. Wooden core covered in leather and decorated with nails. Origin: Morocco, circa 1800. Hispano-Moorish style. The chest opens with two drawers and a large folding door revealing numerous intricately carved and painted drawers. It also features a secret compartment and a pen tray. The interior is lined with antique paisley fabric. The locks are present but without keys. The chest is in good overall condition with a beautiful patina from age and use, but there are some tears, a fragile hinge, and one handle needs reattaching. Height: 46 cm, Width: 52 cm, Depth: 38 cm
