Eugene Baudouin Painting Medieval Theater Scene

Eugene Baudouin (1842-1893) Interesting oil on canvas richly animated framed, the artist presents us here a medieval village scene during a theater performance where the master play PierrePathelin is being performed. We can see a pretty scene set up under a marquee with the actors playing and a large audience made up of women, children and men of all classes as well as knights in armor. Note that the scene is decorated in the colors of Catalonia/Roussillon adorned with 2 coats of arms with red pals on a gold background. The scene can take place between the northeast of Spain and the southwest of France. Beautiful quality work with particular care given to the costumes.
