Antique Miniature – Portrait of a Young Woman, 18th/Early 19th Century. Charming painted miniature depicting the portrait of a young middle-class woman in an interior, wearing a white bonnet and a simple dress with light draping that reveals part of her breast. The face is delicately rendered with a soft, nuanced palette, and the slightly turned, expressive gaze is typical of the sensitive aesthetic of the late 18th/early 19th century. Work in the style of Jean-Baptiste Greuze. The miniature is presented in a square blackened wood frame with a molded mat and a central circular gilt medallion. The piece is in good overall condition.
