"Standing Man In Louis XIII Style, Late 17th Century Cabinet, Double-born Buffet With Miniature"
A very fine cabinet made of various woods, opening at the front with two large drawers and three doors. Our piece is composed of two superimposed sections. The lower section rests on two square feet at the rear and two ball feet at the front, all surmounted by a wide plinth. It opens with two doors decorated with attractive bossing in small diamond points. A central jamb separates them and is integral to the frame. The upper section is atypical, opening with a single door also worked in diamond points and offset to the right. To its left is a compartment adorned with three square diamond points. The sides are worked in plaques with two rounded edges. Our piece has undergone some minor repairs; the rear feet have been shortened, and one has a wooden reinforcement plate; the ball feet have been replaced, as well as the rear rail at the back. (See photos). This piece of furniture was made in the late 17th/early 18th century and combines the Louis XIII and Louis XIV styles. Note the exceptional thickness of the moldings and the woods used, particularly for the back panels. Dimensions: Height at the base 117 cm, Height at the top 99 cm, Total height 216 cm, Depth at the plinth 62 cm, Width at the plinth 118 cm. Please contact us for shipping costs.
